The Caroline is located in Troy, Ohio on the Square by that crazy roundabout and fountain. They have been open since 2007.
The old historical buliding in which this wonderful and beautiful restaurant resides.
Each meal comes with a basic tossed salad that was very fresh. You have the option of adding a house or caesar salad for a couple of dollars more.
Superfry went with the House Creamy Peppercorn Dressing and after tasting it....we used it as a dipping sauce for everything. No piece of food was safe from getting a white washed coating from this dressing. Trust us on this dressing.
They kept the bread basket full with a type of swirled rye bread with a little salt on the top which really enhanced the bread. Look at that butter! You know we put that golden beauty to use.
You cannot make mushrooms look sexy....we will just get that out of the way right now. But these are Bourbon Mushrooms....that's right....Bourbon. They were incredibly tasty!!!! They mix the bourbon with onions, garlic, and butter....simple and tasty. They have a winner with this appetizer.
This selecion is from the lighter fare...the Mesculin Crab Cake Salad. The picture does not do this salad justice...the salad was large, colorful, and tasty. It is served with two crab cakes, baby greens, sun dried tomatoes, and candied pecans. We tried the Sun Dried Tomato Vinaigrette which was a good choice.
Superfry's Turf and Surf plate of joy......it is so beautiful, you would think that Bob Ross painted this.
You are not looking at evidence in the O.J. Simpson murder trial...you are witnessing some manly cutlery! Forged steel like that of the jaw of Patrick Swayze in Roadhouse and stamped with the words "Angus Beef Certified"....it makes a man proud.
Superfry is very proud of this pic because it is so damn beautiful! The Ahi Tuna was incredible and melted in your mouth! It comes with a little side of wasabi and sweet and spicy Asian sauce.
The Tilapia stuffed with crab was very tasty! I am not sure what the red sauce was that came on it, but we loved it.
The Crab Cakes were out of this world! Who doesn't like Crab Cakes???? The Remoulade sauce was tasty, but we prefer dipping the Crab Cake in the House Peppercorn Dressing!!! And it's lump crab meat, there is no substitute!
The gracious owner, Steve Smith, told us that The Caroline is known for their steaks...and he wasn't kidding! This is the Caroline House Steak that melts in your mouth. This also got dipped in the House Peppercorn Dressing.
Old School baked potato with metal cups containing real butter and sour cream.
We were so obsessed with these steak knives....they are big hunks of steel and not pieced together. Superfry started taking pics of the food with the knife until he received a time out.
The interior of this place is beautiful and romantic with modern and chic decor.
Since it was Superfry's birthday....they presented him with a piece of Triple Chocolate Cake which was quickly consumed.
The Caroline offers specials throughout the week and they are some seriously great deals. We recommend the Seafood Plate for $13.95.
This is the bar at the Caroline....they had a beer tasting with appetizers going on this night.
This is another dining room inside the Caroline that is also full of atmosphere.
This is the entrance to the bar when you first enter the restaurant......you have to admit that the place has character.
The beautiful door on the right leads out to a covered patio that allows diners to view the fountain and drivers spinning on the round-a-bout.
This is the view of downtown Troy that outdoor diners get to view. Once dinner was complete...Superfry took a few spins on the round-a-bout while playing while playing Waylon Jennings theme song from the Dukes of Hazzard.
